“I am a professional problem solver with an eye on results,
efficiency and costs,” Bruce Tough states with the confidence
of an experienced litigator, trial attorney and community leader.
Bruce
Tough’s law firm, the Tough Law Firm, is located at the intersection
of I-45 S and Hardy Toll Road in Spring, Texas in a custom designed
building that Tough recently occupied with three other participating
partners. “This is the second development that I have also occupied
as an owner. The first was in midtown Houston where I spent 15 years
in my law practice,” Tough says.
Tough has been actively
involved for over a decade now serving in numerous elected or appointed
capacities in The Woodlands and Montgomery County. He currently holds
an elected office in The Woodlands, Texas and Montgomery County. “My
experience as a past president of The Woodlands Community Association
for five years and as the current chairman of The Woodlands Township Board of Directors and President of The Woodlands Fire Department
has provided me a unique insight into the management and operations
of multimillion-dollar businesses and organizations. I use that experience
when I represent companies that are faced with litigation and I always
keep my eye on the goal line,” states Tough, a seasoned trial
litigator.
He continues, “Anyone who knows me or who has
met me in court knows that I am a fierce competitor for my clients’ interests,
but always fair, honest and result oriented. That means concentrating
my efforts to solve the problem with the most favorable business selection.
As a businessman, I have owned and participated in real estate developments
so I know the challenges of business owners. As a previous Conroe Independent
School Trustee, nothing can be more complicated than the overview of
a school district, especially one with 46,500 students, 50 schools
6,000 employees and a 385 million-dollar budget. A lot of moving pieces.”
Tough
relishes challenges that compel professional as well as personal growth.
He attributes his achievements to his fearlessness and love of life
and people of all walks. He adds, “I’ve climbed and reached
the 14,000 foot summit of Long’s Peak after some dicey moments.
I’ve had a few close calls during some diving excursions both
alone and with my wife. I look upon adversity as an opportunity to
flex my mental and physical strength. My wife tolerates my zeal for
community service as long as I recognize it substitutes for other pursuits
such as tennis, golf, hunting and other non-professional pursuits.”
Tough
affectionately refers to his parents, Coulson and Colleen Tough, who
moved to The Woodlands area in 1974, as Woodlands pioneers. His sister,
Cindy Tough, graduated from Conroe High School in 1977. “I love
Montgomery County and feel privileged to be able to live and work and
raise my four daughters here. All the rest is just my honor to be able
to contribute in any other capacity to make it better,” Tough
states. Tough has resided in The Woodlands with his wife Diana and
Madison, Tara, Abby and Sydney since 1996.
